Birthdays, Fall and Projects!

Holy Smokes, I had not realized that so much time had passed since my last blog! Almost a Month. Well I'm so tired of saying it, but honestly it is totally flying by, where does all the time go? My husband, Wayne and I have had Birthdays this month, we be Virgos, and I can't believe how many of our friends are too. Daughter Tiffany, had us over for a Birthday dinner, Lasagna and Chocolate on Chocolate Cake!
Time to think of decorating for Fall, I have a presentation to get ready for in November. I have to make the presentation, plus two arrangements for their raffle, one for Fall and one for Christmas.
Need to get my own home ready for the Fall too! I'll get that done about two weeks before Halloween, and leave it up until Thanksgiving day. Then the mother of all decorating holidays swoops into our household! Christmas!

Speaking of the holidays, I had a project that I've wanted to tackle for a long time, and that is redoing Wayne's bathroom, our small masterbath. Well I started on this last week, and it has been the project from hell! Now mind you I am actually putting, as Sarah Palin would say, "Lipstick on a Pig"! I am making do with paint on hand for the cabinet, and I bought a can of Rustoleum Hammered Pewter, two new rugs, and that is it! When we moved into this house, the shower doors metal frame was shiny gold, and so was the faucet in a dark green sink. Oh God never buy a dark green sink, every bit of spittle shows, water drops, toothpaste sprays. Just awful. So here are some pictures of my fixer upper, changing the metal surrounding the shower  from gold to hammered pewter, along with the faucet, paint the darkgreen cabinet a lighter color, and paint any wood accents, like the base to the 70's five bulb light bar (I'll change later) and the casings around the large window. At least this will give a fresh presence to the bath, and something I've wanted to get done before I start with all the holiday stuff.
I started by taping off practically the whole bathroom, you can see half gold, and the new pewter look. And after painting the inside of the cabinet, I have started taking off the doors, I will also paint the knobs pewter. So surprised at how well the Rustoleum Paint covered the metal, and the faucet turned out fabulous!
